Itinerary

Excursion 1

Enjoy a fabulous day out to Killerton House National Trust – A family home and a great estate. Glorious landscape garden surrounded by parkland with fine 18th-century house.

There is something for every season – Killerton is a plantsman’s paradise with rare trees and shrubs from all around the world collected by the Veitch family. House, garden an opportunity to get some lunch and enjoy some retail therapy whilst you are there all comes together to make a great day out.

Excursion 2

Enjoy a scenic drive today as we view the beautiful landscapes of the Dartmoor National Park to see a landscape of purple heather-clad moorland and rushing river. The combination of ancient landmarks and cool climate round Dartmoor makes for an almost mythical atmosphere – easy to see why this was the inspiration for the Sherlock Holmes novel “The Hound of the Baskervilles” calling at the pretty village of Widecombe in the Moor.

We’ll follow this with a visit to the pretty village of Widecombe in the Moor that everyone knows through the popular song (Tom Pearce and his Grey Mare).
